Buffelsdrift is a scenic and quiet private game reserve within easy reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria.

Located near Rust de Winter, Buffelsdrift lies just 83 kilometres north east of Pretoria in the heart of the malaria-free Bushveld. Three fully-appointed self-catering cottages and a camp ground lie along the course of the Elands River.

The farm provides a range of activities for day visitors and overnight guests. Buffelsdrift is fully stocked with a variety of antelope, zebra, giraffe, warthog, jackal and other species. A 10 kilometre hiking and mountain biking trail provides plenty of opportunities to view and photograph game, birds, butterflies, trees, flowers and nature. Dark night skies are excellent for star-gazing, and the less energetic need go no further then the deck of their cottage in order to enjoy peace and quiet and relax to the soothing sounds of the bushveld.

Self catering accommodation is offered in three rustic, A-frame, thatched cottages. The Crocodile Lapa has two en-suite bedrooms and is set on the banks of the Elands River. Squirrel and Bushbuck Cottages have a single en-suite bedroom and a loft with 2 extra beds. All of the cottages are set amongst the trees, each in its own secluded spot where you can enjoy nature without intrusions.

Buffelsdrift is also a convenient base for other leisure activities. Spend the day fishing and boating at the nearby Rust de Winter Dam. Visit the Mystic Monkeys and Feathers Wildlife Park. Those who wish to dine out can try the restaurant at Tshukudu Lodge on the Genius Loci Game Ranch just 4 km from Buffelsdrift, and their Sunday buffet lunch can be recommended.
